The more you wear a piece of clothing, the lower its impact becomes. Because you're wearing thís piece instead of maybe buying a new one. This way you bring down the environmental impact of your clothing with every wear. Thát is why you should give it a second chance if you stop wearing it. Let somebody else reduce the impact per wear for you to make it worthwhile.
RULES TO GIVE BACK YOUR KUYICHI JEANS
1. ALL KINDS OF DENIM?
It does not matter if it's a KUYICHI jeans, jacket or shirt. Worn to tear, ripped at the knee or as good as new. We can work with anything. As long as it is a true KUYICHI original.
2. WHAT DO I GET IN RETURN?
To make it worth your while, you will get a discount code on your next pair of jeans. On top of that, you'll get a clean conscience and a good feeling for free.
3. WHY ONLY KUYICHI?
Let's take one step at a time. We know our product and know what we can do with it. The goal is to give our KUYICHI products a second life to reduce their impact.
WHY YOU SHOULD GIVE YOUR JEANS A SECOND CHANCE
Every piece of clothing is the result of time, effort and a lot of resources. Every day you're unconsciously carrying thousands of Liters of water and a lot of kWh around you're body. Pretty heavy if you ask us. To reduce this heaviness, you can do one really simple thing. Make sure that your clothing is worn as much and as long as you can. We think that we, KUYICHI, bare the responsibility of where our clothes end up, even if they’re worn to tear. So once you're done wearing your KUYICHI jeans, we will give them a second life.
SAVE IT FROM LANDFILL
One of the big problems of our current fashion industry is the waste streams during production and the big pile of unused and discarded clothing. About 1/3 of the clothing produced is never sold, not even in the sale. On top of that, 73% of all - used or unused - clothing is burned or ends up in landfill. It is insane if you think about all the resources that are now lying there, unused.
On top of that - synthetic - clothing decomposes really slowly, releasing greenhouse gasses in the process. The burning of our old clothing can produce energy, but it also releases greenhouse gasses and other hazardous substances. Time for a better alternative, right?
By thinking circular, we can work towards an industry that the earth can handle. Circularity is more than recycling and reusing. You can also do your part if you follow these principles:
Rethink - revalue your clothes, buy what you truly love.
Reduce - focus on quality and durability to make it last.
Research - find out what your favourite brands do.
Repair - mend your clothes and extend their life.
Reuse - give clothing a second, third or fourth life.
Repurpose - help to recycle and dispose correctly.
Recycle - buy recycled products to push for more.
