How does it work?

BE AWARE: Due to local corona measures, your local drop off point can be closed or altered opening times. Via the Shipping & Returns page you can start the return process, in this portal you will be guided through the process step by step. Below you'll find the steps to take:
- Register the items you want to return via the link on the shipping & returns page.
- Pay, download and print the label.
- Return via your local drop off point. You'll get the available options in your area.
- Print your return label and stick it on your return package!
- Wait for us to to refund your return.

If you have opened your package correctly you should be able to re-use our packaging for the return. Please make sure to send the product back in its original condition and packaging without any labels removed.

It is not possible to return or exchange your products at one of our retailers.

What does it cost?

For Europe and America, we have shipping arrangements in place for your returns. To create a fair return system, we have set fixed shipment fees.

We do not take part in the free returns madness. Research has shown that free returns encourage people to make inconsiderate orders. Placing orders without carefully checking size guides for instance. Free returns have increased the number of returns massively, which has resulted in a big impact on the climate. So we do not offer you free returns, because we hope you check before you buy.

Not all returns can be avoided of course. So we made it as easy as possible for you and also offer the return at a reduced rate.

How long does it take?

Depending on where you live, it can take a couple of days for the return to get to our warehouse in the Netherlands. Once it's received you will get your refund within 3 days. If your items have not been paid for yet, the amount will be deducted from the outstanding amount. Did you exchange an item for another size? This item will be sent to you free of charge as soon as your return has been processed.

How do I exchange an item?

To exchange your order or an item from your order, please first return your current item(s). Read under 'How does it work' how to return the item(s) you want to exchange. After returning your order you can simply make a new order for the items you wish to receive in exchange. It's up to you if you immediately place a new order for the items you want to exchange or if you wait for your refund to arrive first. After we receive your return in our warehouse, it should only take up to 3 workdays till we refund your money.

How do I contact Kuyichi about a complaint?

We would like to see all our customers happy with our products. We can only directly help you if you've purchased via our own website. If not, we ask everyone to contact the store where the product has been purchased. Please don’t forget to bring your receipt or a transaction record from your bank. If the product was ordered from Kuyichi’s webshop, please contact us at webshop@kuyichi.com and we'll help you within a few working days.

What is the delivery time?

After your order is received, we will start processing your order immediately. Orders successfully processed will be shipped within one working day from our warehouse in The Netherlands. All our packages are shipped via several shipping companies such as PostNL, DHL, DPD or UPS. Please note that we cannot ship to DHL Packstations or other pick-up locations. Once we have completed your order, you will receive a confirmation by email that your order has been shipped.

Shipping costs are on your account and will be added automatically to your invoice. Shipping costs vary by country/region and are made visible on your account before accepting your order.

Delivery within the Benelux and Germany will be within 1-5 working days. Shipments within the Benelux are delivered on Monday – Saturday.

For other countries/regions the delivery may take longer but will not exceed a maximum of 10 days.

How can I track my order?

All our packages are shipped via PostNL, UPS, DPD or DHL. Once we have completed your order, you will receive a confirmation by email that your order has been shipped. You will receive a Track & Trace code to follow the shipment online.


Which payment methods are available at Kuyichi webshop?

We currently support most of the common payment methods from across Europe. Your payment is securely processed by our online payment service provider (“Mollie”). Offered payment methods:

After finalising your order in our web store, you will be redirected to Adyen for the actual payment. After the payment has been approved, you will be redirected back to our shop. You might see the name of Mollie on your bank statements.

Are the prices shown inclusive of VAT?

Kuyichi charges VAT based upon the tax laws in the Netherlands. All products and shipping charges are subject to 21% VAT. All prices shown on our web store are inclusive of 21% VAT unless mentioned otherwise. We do not offer tax-free shopping and cannot refund VAT when you export our items.

What is a CVV code?

In our checkout we ask for your Credit Card Verification Value (CVV) code for increased security and protection against fraud. For Mastercard, Maestro, Visa and Card Bleue credit cards, you can find this 3-digit value on the back of your card. As required by law, we will never store your credit card’s CVV code anywhere and it is discarded after transmission in the checkout.

How can I take care of my clothes?

To find out how a particular item can best be cleaned, please read the care instructions provided in the inside care label of your clothes. Washing significantly impacts the environmental footprint of clothes. Kuyichi follows the clevercare symbol by GINETEX, which advises how you can influence the environmental impact of garment care. Our most important tips are: Wash denim only when they are dirty. After wearing, jeans can be hung outside for a few hours to freshen up. Spots can mostly be cleaned with a damp cloth. Use short or eco washing programs for lightly soiled laundry. The care symbols show the maximum treatment. Washing at lower temperatures than indicated on the label is always possible, and uses less energy (but make sure to read the instructions on your detergent pack). Whenever possible, dry laundry outdoors in fresh air or in an unheated room. Find out more about the care for your denims in this blog.

What can I do with my old clothes?

Kuyichi does not believe in fast fashion. All our clothes are designed to last: made of high quality fabrics with a timeless appearance. We aim to take care of products’ entire lifecycle, from production to recycling. When the time has come to say goodbye to your old clothes, please donate it to charity or drop it in a textile recycling container, to enable reuse or recycling of the garments. You can also bring your old Kuyichi denim to Nukuhiva a store in Utrecht. They collect jeans for us to be recycled into new products.

What materials are Kuyichi clothes made of?

We aim to solely use sustainable materials. We have our own preferred materials guideline based on the Higg Index. This includes organic cotton, tencel, recycled cotton & recycled polyester. We also use linen, hemp and recycled polyester. More information about our materials can be found on our Pure Denim page.

Are Kuyichi products vegan?

Many denim brands use a leather patch on their jeans. We decided to stop with the use of leather since 2016. We replaced the patch for a patch made of jacron, which makes all Kuyichi jeans vegan. Jacron is made of recycled paper. It is a washable and very resistant material. We also use viridis a partially biobased fake pu leather, mostly made from corn. All our denim & most of our other items are vegan and are recognisable by the vegan logo underneath the images. Besides they're also officially PETA approved.

Where are Kuyichi products manufactured?

The Kuyichi clothes are manufactured in Turkey, Pakistan, Portugal & China. You can find all information about our suppliers here. You can also download our manufacturers list which states all information conform the Transparency Pledge, inlcuding site addresses and the amount of workers. All our locations are also included in the Open Apparel Registry.


How does Kuyichi take care of the people that make our clothes?

For our social compliance we rely on different pillars. Our full chain is GOTS certified, which means that besides high environmental standards, also basic social standards are yearly checked at all our suppliers. Most suppliers are certified under other standards too, such as SA 8000 & OHSAS 18001 and are member or audited under BSCI, Fair Wear Foundation, SMETA or Higg Index.

To explain what we expect on social compliance of our suppliers we have our Code of Conduct. The Code of Conduct applies to all parts of our production chain, to our direct contact suppliers, but also their subsuppliers, agents and other parties. The document covers the basic social standards we expect.

We consider it very important to take responsibility for our actions, and we want to make this perfectly clear to all of our partners. We are in almost daily contact with our supplier to make sure productions are running smooth. We also do visit our suppliers in person to see with our own eyes how the culture, the work environment and way of working is at our suppliers. We only start a partnership with the vision to turn it into a stable and longterm relationship. This gives certainty to our suppliers and to us and gives room to grow together, also on social and environmental developments.

What is the Kuyichi Code of Conduct?

Our Responsible Business Conduct sets the minimum social standards that we expect are implemented in our supply chain.It covers the following subjects:
- No child labour
- No forced labour
- Safe and healthy working conditions
- Reasonable working hours
- Fair wages
- No discrimination
- No harassment & violence
- Freedom of association & collective bargaining
- Employment relations (contracts)

The document is based on different international guidelines and resources, such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Business Conduct and International Labour Standards (ILO) conventions.

What is GOTS?

All the cotton we use and some of the products we make are GOTS certified. GOTS stands for the Global Organic Textile Standard. This is a global textile standard for organic fibers, which also includes ecological and social criteria. The aim of the standard is to ensure organic standards – everything from the harvesting, through the manufacturing process to the labeling – in order to offer a credible global certificate to the consumer.

What do garment workers in factories earn?

We do not own the factories, so we cannot determine the wages. However, the factories we work with are committed to become socially compliant and do extra programs for their workers. Like SOORTY in Pakistan, who has a blood program. This makes sure every worker in their factory has reserve blood and is annually screened for illnesses. Garment workers will earn at least the minimum wage or a collectively bargained wage, whichever is highest.


Why does Kuyichi only use organic cotton?

Organic crops are grown without the use of chemical fertilizers, pesticides and insecticides. Pesticides pollute soil and water, killing wildlife and harming communities. With organic agriculture natural fertilizers and fertilizing techniques are used instead, including compost, manure, naturally derived mineral and plant fertilizers, and crop rotation.

We were the first to introduce socially-responsible organic cotton jeans wear. Compared to conventional cotton, organic cotton has a lower carbon footprint, because organic cotton farming requires less energy and healthy organic soil can store more carbon. The production also requires less water and enormously reduces the grey water footprint (polluted water). Organic cotton is grown from non-genetically modified seeds (GM), which means organic farmers keep control on their own business and they do not have to buy expensive GM seeds.

Independent organisations verify that organic producers employ only approved natural methods and materials in organic production according to strictly enforced international standards. More information on organic grown materials can be found on the websites of GOTS and Textile Exchange.

How does Kuyichi lower the environmental impact of their jeans & other products?

Kuyichi constantly works on lowering their environmental impact. To do this we control different parts of our production process. This starts with the use of more sustainable materials like for instance organic cotton, recycled cotton, recycled polyester, linen and tencel. We're also in close contact with our denim mills to make sure that the dyeing processes uses minimal amounts of water.

To finish our jeans we use innovative washing techniques like laser, ozone and e-flow machinery. Read more about this in this blog. Most of our denim washes are also measured with the EIM (Environmental Impact Measurement) tool of Jeanologia. This gives us the exact environmental impact of our jeans and gives insights in the processes. We use it to constantly improve our washes. At all times we never use sandblasting or abrasive blasting as finishing process on our jeans.
