Art in Return and Kuyichi roll up their sleeves and release a denim jumpsuit together. We go by the beautiful formula ‘Art Wear in Return’: in return for every sold suit, 50 euros will go to the relief organization Mila Potapova in Kyiv. No giro bank number or administrative detour, but immediate help. The jumpsuit is made from recycled denim and is a limited edition.

Amsterdam-based Annemieke van Beek is the artist behind Art in Return. She graduated from the Fashion Academy AMFI and Art Academy St. Joost, and she has worked in fashion for 25 years as a creative director for several international fashion brands. Her endless love for art and creating inspired her to change her career. In 2019, Annemieke started making three-dimensional artworks, offering them on her platform Art in Return.
‘What to wear when you create?’
That’s the question that came to Annemieke’s mind when the owner of Kuyichi came by her atelier to acquire an art piece. ‘Art in Return’s work is not for sale, you can get it by making a trade. With something that inspires or sustains the project. Or just with something fun!’
‘I create to live with a full heart and not with full pockets!’
In exchange for a work of art, Kuyichi offered Annemieke the opportunity to design her own denim jumpsuit, using her fashion experience once again. The aim was to produce as sustainable as possible by using Kuyichi's recycled denim. Kuyichi and Annemieke decided to produce a limited edition jumpsuit and connect it to a great cause.
The news reached Annemieke that Katro, the sister of Annemieke’s friend, fled from Kyiv to The Netherlands to escape the horrors of the war in Ukraine. ‘To help her, I asked her to model for the jumpsuit project. During the photoshoot, a week after Katro's arrival, she drew our attention to her friend's relief organization in Kyiv. The organization helps people to flee to the border. They also bring food packages to older people. We are now helping out in the style of Art Wear in Return: for each jumpsuit sold, we donate 50 euros to Mila Potapova.
