Stop Black Friday!

It might not surprise you that Black Friday is not our thing. We do not participate in sales for valid reasons. Discounting degrades the value of our clothing and encourages fast-consuming behaviour. Buying without thinking. We want to speak out against this system that arouses dissatisfaction and is not making us any happier in the long run. On top of that, fast-consuming behaviour has a giant impact on both the environment and the lives of the people who make our clothes.

This Black Friday weekend, instead of giving you a discount, we give away 20% of our online sales to the food bank in Utrecht. To give back to our local community and stay in the Thanksgiving spirit.

It breaks our hearts to see how tense the pressure on the local food banks is at the moment. Due to the corona crisis, the food banks have to provide 8,5% more people for their basic food needs than last year. Due to the economic recession, the expected wave of bankruptcy and the rapidly rising unemployment rate, food banks are preparing for further increases. Let’s turn around the system, directly or indirectly. Let’s pay a fair price and treat people right, no matter what the system tells us to. Let’s appreciate what we have and support people who need it the most.
