The future of denim is not something that just happens. It’s something you create.
2004 — The First Organic Denim: FATE
By 2004, we took the next step. Not just proving that cotton could be grown differently, but showing that it could become something tangible.
A pair of jeans.
Fully organic. From start to finish.
From idea to product
Three years after the first collection launched, which included t-shirts and tops made from organic cotton, the next step was clear: we want to go further.
We had already proven that organic cotton could meet the standards of the industry. But denim was a different challenge. Heavier fabric. More complex. Held to a higher standard by the people who wear it.
So we kept pushing. Not towards perfection, but towards progress.
Less compromise.
More consistency.
Closer to the source.
Building what didn’t exist
At the time, creating a pair of jeans made from 100% organic cotton was far from straightforward.
Today, organic fabrics are readily available. Back then, they didn’t exist yet.
So we had to build everything from the ground up.
The cotton was sourced in Peru. The fabric was developed from scratch. The jeans were cut and sewn by our manufacturer in Turkey.
Every step required alignment. Every stage required people who believed in what we were trying to do.
From farmers to fabric makers to manufacturers, everyone worked together to create something that didn’t exist yet.
