Kuyichi's policies

All of Kuyichi's policies are based on different international guidelines and resources. Below, you can find introductions and download links to our policies to dive deeper.

  • The Code of Conduct is a document that describes what we expect from our business partners and what they can expect from Kuyichi. It explains to our suppliers how to implement and monitor their social and environmental standards and meet the minimum requirements that we set. Requirements include, for example, no child labour, a safe working environment, and wastewater management. These requirements are set to prevent and minimise causing or contributing to negative impacts on people, the environment and society.

  • The Human Rights and Environmental Due Diligence Policy is a document that describes our due diligence policy. Due diligence is the process of identifying, assessing, and addressing the potential social and environmental impacts of our operations and projects. This policy shows the steps we take to ensure that our company’s activities do not harm people or the planet. Our due diligence process is based on internationally accepted OECD Due Diligence guidance that also forms the foundation for upcoming European legislation.

  • The Fibres and Materials Policy gives meaning to Kuyichi’s commitment to using high-quality and low-environmental impact fibres in products. For this, Kuyichi has made the Kuyichi Preferred Fibres List. The fibres in this list are ranked into different categories of preferred fibres (organic, recycled, low-impact), ‘try to avoid’ fibres and banned fibres. The document also gives guidance on certification and explains our ‘organic cotton only’-policy.

  • The (M)RSL Agreement shows Kuyichi’s commitment to safe and healthy products that have a low chemical impact. It’s the explanatory document that guides how to implement the Kuyichi RSL & Kuyichi MRSL.

The Kuyichi RSL sets limits on chemical substance concentrations in the final Kuyichi products. This document is based on the requirements of the EU-legislation REACH and OEKO-TEX Standard 100 annexes 6 & 7.

The Kuyichi MRSL is a list that adopts the Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) MRSL and is a list of chemical substances that are banned from intentional use for the production processes of Kuyichi garments.

The (M)RSL Agreement also shows how the (M)RSL relates to certification standards like the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) and the Global Recycle Standard (GRS). Besides, it gives extra guidance on the critical chemical risk processes of dyeing and (denim) washing.
