We’re teaming up again! This time, Kuyichi and MENDED are bringing reclaimed denim IN PLAY. This new collection gives forgotten jeans a fresh start. All crafted with love and a bit of boldness. The IN PLAY capsule collection gives new purpose to defective, worn and unworn denim. And you? You keep them IN PLAY.

What is the IN PLAY collection?

IN PLAY is not your average denim drop. We’ve taken post-consumer jeans and B-choice styles and turned them into something completely new. These pieces are designed and made with care in the Netherlands by the local denim experts of Future Future Apparel. With the help of designer Rebekka Bach, they were able to create a rich and unique collection.

Working with reused materials isn’t the same as working with new fabrics – not every idea translates in the same way. That was part of the challenge, but also part of the fun. Every limitation pushed us to think more creatively, and that’s exactly what makes these pieces truly one-of-a-kind. Thanks to strong design and skilled craftsmanship, we found ways to make it work.

Why IN PLAY matters

Here’s the reality: the fashion industry throws away around 92 million tonnes of textile waste every year. That’s a whole lot of clothing with plenty of life still in them. We want to show another way, where waste becomes a resource, and clothing stays in play, longer.

IN PLAY is our proof of concept. But it’s not just about us. If we want a better fashion industry, we need to work together. That’s why we’re building a blueprint for others to follow. Something that’s replicable, open, and scalable. Because real change only happens when more brands, more makers, and more people get involved.

The collection: two versions of IN PLAY

The collection comes in two lines, Pre-order and One-off. That way, IN PLAY is for everyone, whether you're looking for a true head-turner or something more casual but unique.

Pre-order, how does it work?

You order it, we make it. Simple as that. This way, we only produce what’s needed, cutting out waste and overstock. And you get something that’s made just for you. It’s denim made with intention, but also a surprise package. As you don't know the exact colour combination.

The pre-order pieces are more accessible, designed to fit into your daily wardrobe and priced to match. Since your piece is made especially for you after you order, it can take up to three months to land on your doorstep, but trust us, it's worth the wait.

One-off pieces

These are the showstoppers. High-end, unique designs that are made once and never repeated. Every one-off item tells its own story, stitched from hand-picked denim and packed with personality. From patchwork designs to hand stitched sashiko. We took our time to design and create styles, that’s what makes them special. If you fall in love with one, don’t wait. When it’s gone, it’s really gone.
