Kuyichi production — made with integrity and transparency

Since 2000

Pure denim. Real change.

Kuyichi was founded in 2000 with one goal: to transform the cotton industry. We saw what conventional cotton farming was doing to land and people, and decided to build a brand to change it. Over 25 years later we still work to raise the bar, pushing for better materials, cleaner production and fairer conditions. And we keep going when it's hard.

Our story

Not perfect. But honest, and always improving.

Every Kuyichi product is made with preferred materials and by partners we visit and know by name. What we know, we publish: our full supplier list, production volumes, and impact data, including what still needs work.

Cotton
Materials
No conventional cotton
Every piece of cotton we use is organic, regenerative or recycled, and most of it is certified throughout the supply chain. We pioneered organic denim in 2004 and haven't looked back.
Washes
Production
Low-impact denim
Getting that worn-in denim look has traditionally been water- and chemical-intensive. We work with our suppliers to reduce the impact of denim washes. Using EIM scores to measure impact, banning harmful techniques and chemicals, and innovating to reduce impacts even further.
90%+
Materials
Certified preferred fibres
Beyond cotton, up to 90% of our collection uses preferred fibres (TENCEL lyocell, recycled elastane, linen, hemp) chosen for lower environmental impact at every stage, from field to finished garment.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you want to know about Kuyichi.

Kuyichi is a Dutch denim brand founded in 2001 with a mission to unfashion the fashion industry. We make timeless wardrobe essentials and denim staples with high standards of social and environmental responsibility.

We maintain full oversight of our supply chain, with most production in Türkiye, where we've built relationships from cotton farm to final garment. Our partners are listed transparently on our website and through the Open Supply Hub.

As the first brand to bring organic cotton denim to market in 2004, we continue driving systemic change. We hold GOTS-, GRS- and Regenagri-certification. We are a Fair Wear Foundation member, and we take our efforts seriously to identify and improve the working conditions for the people who make our products.
We have a 'no conventional cotton policy', meaning that all the cotton we use is either organic, recycled, organic in-conversion, or regenerative. We strive to have every product covered by a full chain-of-custody certification, so we can make sure that the fabrics we purchase definitely end up in the final product. We hold GOTS, GRS, OCS and Regenagri certification. Certification is independently audited by Control Union. However, not all of our suppliers are Regenagri certified, as this certification is upcoming and not so widely used yet. This is why our products made from regenerative cotton currently do not yet have product level certification.
Our production is concentrated in Türkiye (in 2025 this was around 99% of our production volume), with a small share in Portugal, Morocco, Tunisia and Pakistan. We visit our partners regularly and publish our full supplier list on our Pure Production page. We share in detail about the working conditions at these suppliers in our annual Social Report.
The CORE Collection consists of timeless styles available all year round. Each item is restocked based on demand to prevent overproduction. Twice a year we evaluate the collection based on feedback from retailers and consumers. Discover the CORE Collection.
Returns are accepted within 30 days of receipt. The return process is straightforward and can be initiated via your account or through our customer service. More information can be found on our returns page.
Yes, Kuyichi is a member of Fair Wear Foundation. Fair Wear membership is not a certification, it reflects that we actively work to improve labour conditions at our production partners. We aim to have every Tier 1 factory audited at least once every three years, and we publish our full findings and progress in our annual public Social Report. Every two years, the Fair Wear Foundation checks how we manage our human rights due diligence efforts, and they provide a score based on their framework. You can find the results on this Brand Performance Check on our website at Pure Production.
