Jeans made from 100% post-consumer recycled denim

Pre- and post-consumer recycled denim

There are two types of recycled denim: cotton waste from the production process - pre-consumer - or from worn clothing - post-consumer. This new 100% post-consumer recycled denim fabric is made by Bossa, our close denim mill partner based in Türkiye. They have worked on increasing the percentage of post-consumer denim fibres in their fabrics for a long time

Kuyichi’s first 100% post-consumer recycled jeans Scott

Up until now, we’ve only brought you denim with either 100% pre-consumer denim, like our Heritage Blue denim or a lower % of post-consumer recycled denim, like our Classic Blue styles. The first style launched in 100% post-consumer recycled denim is the Scott Old Fashioned Blue. The Scott is our oldest fit and has been in the collection since 2008. It’s a regular fit and the perfect gem for this innovative material introduction.

To provide the needed strength, the fabric is on the heavier side: a 12.75-ounce denim. With the shorter recycled fibres, it is not possible to create a product with low-weight or high-stretch. Or, not yet. As what seemed hard to accomplish in the past is now a reality in our new Scott
