Kuyichi social report 2024

Purchasing practices: Taking responsibility

We’re committed to taking responsibility for the impact we have on our supply chain by continuously improving our purchasing practices. Purchasing practices are all the actions we, as a brand, take that directly affect our supply chain. Such as your sourcing, production planning, communication, pricing and the partnerships you establish. All these topics are discussed in our report. To give you one example; we plan production not only in the peak months but try to spread them out over the year to help suppliers to reduce overtime. This is possible because we’ve eliminated seasonal sales and have a strong Never Out Of Stock collection.

Due diligence: Analysing risks in the supply chain

While we value our suppliers, we recognize that there are always risks in the supply chain that need to be addressed. Sustainability is not a goal but a continuous process of improvement. Therefore, we are committed to following the UN Guiding Principles and OECD guidelines in conducting our due diligence. We examine risks at multiple levels of our supply chain, including the country, business model, supplier and product levels. Read more about our risk assessment, the risks we identified, and how we prevent and mitigate these risks in the report.

Transparency & traceability: Being truthful

To ensure the information we share in the Social Report is truthful, we have our systems built in to collect the right data. One key tool we use is our Product Sustainability Checklist. Through this document, we verify all needed information at the product level. We also strive to be open and transparent. We share our supplier list on our website and on the Open Supply Hub, the report details what we’ve worked on with our suppliers over the past year and the risks we still have to address.

Future projects: Taking action

Since 2023, Kuyichi has been part of a Fair Wear project supported by the RVO (Netherlands Enterprise Agency) focusing on gender equality, violence and harassment, and living wages in Türkiye. In 2023, Fair Wear concluded the research phase of this project. Based on the research recommendations, we have developed a specific Gender Action Strategy and Living Wage Strategy. We’re now working on refining and implementing these strategies.

We hope the Social Report gives you the insights you are looking for. We look back with pride on the progress we have made internally and with our supply chain partners. However, there is still much work to be done. It’s a continuous process. Check out the report to learn about how we aim to have a positive impact on the people behind your clothes.
