Rigid denim: the original jeans

What is rigid denim?

Rigid denim is denim that has no stretch. It is a sustainable and conscious choice in the world of denim. Rigid denim consists of 100% cotton or other non-stretch fabrics. We are all used to the comfort that stretch provides. With rigid denim, it works differently. Rigid denim, as the name suggests, can feel stiffer at first. But as the jeans are worn, they will form to the body. The jeans will stretch the most where there is most tension. Because of this natural stretching, we recommend buying rigid denim a little tighter because it grows about half a size.

Why do we love rigid denim?

Since the discovery of stretch, we have become completely accustomed to it. This is also logical because stretch pants quickly fit well and are comfortable. But with this, we have lost sight of the quality and craftsmanship. Rigid denim can feel stiffer at first, but it forms completely to your body. Pants that are precisely tailored to your curves.

Now that we are wearing wider fits and wide-leg jeans, stretch is often unnecessary as long as attention is paid to a good fit. Stretch often conceals the fast way of producing and not paying attention to a well-crafted fit. Stretch ensures that it almost always fits well and compensates for production errors. Rigid denim shows the craft of working with precision on good fits and comfort without cheating. Moreover, rigid denim is easy to recycle, and, therefore, Kuyichi-approved!
